I am estatic that you have visited Holbrook’s literacy site!  If you are a Holbrook teacher ready to post a comment, please find the page for your subject area.  Put in your name and email.  Type your answers to the questions in the box and add any other tid-bits of information you think others would find useful. Please do not hesitate to give modifications you made or critical comments that would help another teacher see the strengths and weaknesses of a strategy.   Happy reading!

I am quite impressed with the idea and efforts of the blogging site. Great job and work to add this technology component to Holbrook.

Keep ROCKING on!

This site provides us a great opportunity to share ideals and tips for Reading Literacy.

I have used the Sir Cumference books for a couple of years now but have only read them to the class(not so well I might add because I am way out of my element). After observing Mrs. Parker with Mrs. Royston’s class and the activity she used with one of the books, I was able to see a better way to read the story and get the kids more involved other than just hearing old Mr. Short try to read this story. It was great to see another teacher do a lesson another(and better) way and give me ideas and strategies that I can now use with the same and other Sir Cumference books!
